The premiere of Parwaaz Hai Junoon was cancelled on Sunday in Karachi because this movie’s title had not been cleared by the censor board.
Whiteboard welcomed the guests to read at the entrance of the multiplex building a statement about Parwaaz Hai Junoon, “It is to inform everyone that the premiere of Hum Films titled Parwaaz Hai Junoon has been cancelled due to the title not having been cleared by the Central Board of Film Censors Islamabad.”
Parwaaz Hai Junoon was slated to release on 2018’s Eid-Ul-Azha as for the past few months, films promotions had been going on.
Hum TV’s media at around 7:30, circulated a note through social media that “unavoidable circumstances” is the reason for cancelling Karachi’s event and pressures the words “all other events and release date of the film remain unchanged.”
The censor board chairman Daniyal Gillani speaks about Parwaaz Hai Junoon in an interview with Dawn news, he said “Some members had raised an objection, about which I cannot tell you right now. We have called a meeting of the full board tomorrow (Monday), which will review the film, after which we are going to release a statement.”
We came to know from some sources that the censor board of Sindh and Punjab had cleared the film. In fact, in Karachi, a screening of Parwaaz Hai Junoon has taken place in which the reviewers got the chance to see the film. Apparently, only the censor board in Islamabad has an issue with the post-intermission scene because some characters of the movie are speaking in a particular accent.
For the movie, Soomar wants a public apology from the production house “I want MD productions to tender an unconditional written apology. Apart from that, I would like to receive my due credit in the film. MD Productions has a record of misusing youngsters’ talent.”.
Parwaaz Hai Junoon is directed by Haseeb Hassan featuring Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ahad Raza Mir, Hania Amir, Kubra Khan, Rachel Viccaji, Adnan Jaffer, Farhan Ali Agha and Shaz Khan.
