Google Honors Ustad Mehdi Hassan Khan With A Doodle

Google is celebrating the 91st birthday of Pakistan’s legendary ghazal singer “Ustad Mehdi Hassan Khan” on their homepage with a doodle. The doodle depicts “Mehdi Hassan’s” way of singing ghazals. The doodle was drawn as Shahenshah-e-Ghazal in a black waistcoat, cream-colored shalwar kameez, orange yellowish shawl, happiness on the face, black harmonium is written Google on it and surrounded by bright candle lights and music notations.

In 2012, our maestro after a prolonged sickness passed away in Karachi. He got fame in 1957  after his first debut singing show on Radio Pakistan. Mehdi Hassan Sahab earned major recognition from thumari singer primarily.

The prominent figure of Pakistan was honored many timed with awards for his outstanding music such as Pride of performance, Tamgha e Imtiaz, Hilal e Imtiaz and  Nishan e Imtiaz by our government.

His unforgettable solos are “YOON ZINDAGI KI RAAH PE TAKRA GAYA KOI”, MUJHE TUM NAZAR SE GIRA TO RAHE HO”, PYAR BHARAY DO SHARMEELAY NAIN” AND “IK NAYE MOD PER LY AYEN HAI HALAT MUJHE”.

Ustad Mehdi Hassan was very passionate about his music and lent his voice to Pakistan’s film industry more than 300 times.
