Anubhav Sinha Writes An Open Letter To His Pakistani Audience

The Indian director Anubhav Singh’s upcoming movie “Mulk” starrer Rishi Kapoor has been banned in Pakistan and Daniyal Gillani who is a censor board chairmen has confirmed it. Over the prejudiced verdict, the filmmakers are very upset.

Besides Rishi Kapoor, the film also stars Tapsee Pannu and its script is based on a real story of an Indian Muslim family that faced unlimited oppressions after a terrorist attack in the country and its court case.

After hearing about the film’s ban, Anubhav Singh got really depressed and wrote an open letter to the Pakistani viewers. He took it to the tweeter and said “A letter to Pakistan. Sorry a question really!!! #MULK in Theaters tomorrow.” among his letter image.

“Dear Citizens of Pakistan, I say dear citizens of Pakistan at the risk of being called an anti-national by some losers back home. I don’t care.”

“I remember the day the trailer came out many in India and also many in Pakistan wrote against it. Some in India thought it was pro Muslim and some in Pakistan thought it stereotyped Muslims. Contradictory but true. I kept insisting the film was about LOVE. Love amongst Hindus and Muslims. Now the word is out. The press has seen it and the audience in the UAE too has seen it.”

“It is not pro Muslim or Anti Muslim. Pro Pakistan or Anti Pakistan. It is about love that all of us as individuals should have, amongst us. It is about You. It is about Me. You have Hindus as a minority in your country and we have Muslims as a minority in ours. We all must work towards coexisting in peace and harmony.”

Sinha’s question is, “Why is it so that they do NOT want you to see the film that talks about co-existence. I know, sooner or later, you will have access to the film. Please do watch it and give me your opinion why did the Pakistan Censor Board ban the film.”

Movie’s director believes that it is really important for Pakistani audience to watch “Mulk” as the message he wants to convey through the movie is not only about India or Pakistan but the unity of both the neighbor countries.
